I had thought the polyurethane and Rustoleum sprays were yellow. This was slightly <em>more<\/em>&nbsp;yellow than the Rustoleum, and not much less so than the polyurethane.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1222\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1222\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1222\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chirphopstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/alltesters_crystal.jpg\" alt=\"Spray finishes for papier mach\u00e9 clay\" width=\"800\" height=\"407\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chirphopstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/alltesters_crystal.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.chirphopstudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/alltesters_crystal-400x204.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1222\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Spray finishes for papier mach\u00e9 clay<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>So much for crystal clear&#8230; maybe crystal that&#8217;s been sitting around in an attic&nbsp;for a few decades might look like this.<\/p>\n<p>The Rustoleum is looking pretty good now, for a gloss finish. For matte, the Krylon UV-Resistant seems to be the winner. You can barely tell that there&#8217;s a finish on it (and it&#8217;s two coats).<\/p>\n<p>These sprays may be fine over a colored surface, accounting for a slight yellow tinge, but I&#8217;ve got several bowls that are white. I&#8217;m not even sure if I feel comfortable with the Krylon matte for them. There&#8217;s still a subtle color shift, if you look closely (in person).<\/p>\n<p>As far as the finish goes, what is supposed to be &#8220;satin&#8221;, tends toward the glossy side.
